On 7 September, the Universal Church rejoiced at the canonization of Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati in a historic celebration at St. Peter’s Square, Rome. Thousands of faithful from around the world gathered to witness this moment of grace, where two inspiring young witnesses to holiness were officially proclaimed saints.
We are especially grateful that our members, Donna and Luisa, were present at the event, representing the Society of Saint Carlo Acutis. Their presence marked a moment of deep joy and connection for our community.
Adding to this blessing, two priests from the Divine UK Retreat Centre also participated in the ceremony, joining pilgrims, clergy, and young people in prayer and thanksgiving. The Holy Mass, presided over by the Holy Father, included profound moments of prayer, veneration of the relics, and testimonies of the saints’ lasting impact.
The canonization of Saint Carlo Acutis, the “cyber apostle of the Eucharist,” alongside Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati, the “man of the Beatitudes,” reminds us that holiness is possible in every generation. Both saints continue to inspire us to live with courage, faith, and love in our daily lives.
As we cherish this moment, we pray that their intercession will guide us to grow closer to Christ and to bring the Gospel with joy into the world.
